Northumberland Estates approached Pod to explore commercial and retail opportunities within the existing development of Wynyard, on several different sites. Pod explored various options, each with their own opportunities and constraints. The site chosen maximises options for both vehicle and pedestrian movement and provides key links with the existing buildings. The loading and delivery entrance is surrounded by a green wall shielding the working side of the development whilst also linking into the immediate local green space. The front facade is designed from high quality materials with large glazed areas and the use of a translucent glazing to feature brickwork detailing.
