A residential development located within Heathall, Dumfries. The development site possesses a number of fundamental constraints as well as defined site opportunities which the proposed scheme has sought to embrace. In regard to development constraints a key driver of the scheme was the potentially difficult spatial relationship established between proposed residential development adjacent to large industrial unit to the southern boundary. Associated noise and air pollution issues have resulted in an outward development edge and uses building frontages of substantial mass to control and minimise noise exposure to the remainder of the site.
Celebration of development opportunities have allowed long range view to the northern and eastern boundaries. The development site has embraced key principles of design based upon manual for streets with both creative routescapes and a structured road hierarchy promoting streetscapes of variation and interest.
