After a successful competition bid, POD worked closely with the consortium to understand and examine all site constraints, such as large extensive mine workings, which helped form the basis of the development, navigating through these whilst driving the concept of connectivity to the large open areas of surrounding green space, POD have been able to create an exciting development with key transitional nodes of external spaces, offering spaces for the residents to come together a build a new community. The house types have been designed and considered as a rhythmical composition that drives community connection, expansive areas of glazing allowing transparency and promoting visual connections. As part of a strong delivery team POD will move forward and deliver this existing project on behalf of the GRP consortium.
